Reference: I Corinthians 2:16

Have you ever wondered my friend what kindof mind that Jesus must have possessed? Do you think that he was a weak mindedperson like most people seem to reveal today? Can you say my friend that youhave a mind like Christ or that you have the mind that Christ had? Let us checksome instances in the Bible where the mind of Christ was revealed so that wecan find out just exactly what kind of a mind that he really possessed. In Matthew 14:24-33we find that the disciples were in a ship and Christ was not with them. TheBible says that in the fourth watch of the night Jesus came unto them walkingon the sea. Can you imagine how a person could be able to walk on the waterwithout sinking? When the disciples saw him walking on the water, Peter calledout to him and told him to bid him come to him on the water. Jesus told Peterto come and so Peter got out of the ship and he actually began to walk on thewater just like Jesus was. Reading the remaining story we find where Peterbegan to lose faith and he began to sink. Peter started sinking because hebegan to look at the waves that were getting higher and harder. When he donethis he began to get scared, losing his faith in believing that he could walkon the water. Jesus could have walked all over that sea because his mind wasunshakable. Peter experienced a little of what it means to have an unshakablemind like Christ had. As long as he kept his eyes and his mind on Christ hecould walk on water just like Christ did. When Peter began to look at theprevailing circumstances of how the waves were getting worse, he began to losehis faith and he started sinking.

Jesus reached out for him and asked him whyhe had doubted. Peter began to doubt when he began to look at the waves... Thewaves of the water had caused him to doubt that he could continue walking onthe water. As long as Peter had his mind on being able to walk on the water, hedid so. The waves attracted his attention, thus causing him to doubt. The wavesdistracted him because he was not able to resist the possible danger of thewaves being able to drown him under the water. The fear of death made his mindreact to the danger of the boisterous waves instead of him being able to shutoff the circumstances of his fear. The Bible reveals that fear causes man to dothe things that he should not do. Peter could not keep his mind concentratingon his walking on the water simply because he was not stable enough in hismind. Jesus would not allow the boisterous waves and the wind to cause him tobegin to fear, because his mind was stronger than any prevailing danger thatcould arise. His mind was in this condition because of the fact that he obeyedthe word of God of his Father. Jesus of course knew that Peter would lose faithand begin to sink. He knew it because Peter was yet weak not having been anovercomer of all trials and temptations. He also did not possess the HolySpirit in his heart that was to lead him into all truth that would have madehim stronger in faith. As long as Christ was with his disciples, he was theircomforter and their leader. Christ was teaching them the truth of God's wordbut evidently they were yet very weak in their faith. Christ continued towonder why their faith was so weak seeing that he taught them truth and didmany great feats before them etc.  Christwas a man that nothing could cause him to get scared thus losing his faith indangerous conditions. The mind that Christ had was like a solid rock thatnothing could penetrate. This is the very mind that all true born againchristians will have. Looking at today's confessing born again christians, itis easily seen that they do not possess the mind of Christ nor do they believethat it is possible to have this mind. In order for us to have the mind ofChrist, we have to go through the process of having our minds renewed. Therenewing of the mind removes all carnality from within it. A mind that has notbeen renewed by the truth of God's word is called a carnal mind. A mind thathas been renewed by the truth of God's word is called a spiritual mind. Ourminds are renewed in a daily process by our abstaining from sin. The process ofthe renewing of the mind consists of going through many trials and temptations. When a person truly repents of sin and receives the Holy Spirit in their heartthey will then have to go through the process of becoming a new creation. Thisprocess takes time and very much patience. Most people think that when theybegin to serve God and confess to be a christian that things are a lot betterthan when they lived in sin. What ninety some percent of today's confessingchristians are totally ignorant of, is the fact that when a person truly isconverted and receives the Spirit in their life, that this is when it seemsthat all of hell's force is turned against you. Unless you are put through therefinery of God's operation of becoming a son or daughter of God, then you willnever have the mind of Christ that the Bible reveals that we will have. God'sway of making true sons and daughters of God is for them to face all the furythat Satan can throw at them. God will begin to put you to the test so that youwill be a strong faith filled soldier of the king. Many people today say thatthey love God but I guarantee that they are all void of the truth that willburn all dross from them thus making them true born again children of God.God's word tells us that Christ is the baptizer with the Holy Ghost and fire. This fire is the tests that we must go through in order that we become thewheat that is placed in the garner. The Bible says that Christ will throughly purgehis floor, meaning that he will take all carnality from us and we will then beable to offer unto God an offering in righteousness. Christ sits as a refinerand as fuller's soap, thus purging the believer, making them true sons anddaughters of God that has the mind of Christ. What condition, my friend, isyour mind in? Do you jump like you have been shot when someone may try to scareyou? How easy are you upset by what someone may say about or against you? Doyou blow a gasket? When things seem to go opposite to the way you think theyshould go, what do you do? Do you call God a liar, saying you met theconditions in order that you can have what you ask for? Are you one that standsup in your church and gives the devil glory by your saying that he almostkilled you today? Are you one still yielding to sin's temptations, thinking youare humble by admitting to the fact that you sin? Does your pastor tell youthat you are humble when you admit that you sin and not to believe that youhave power over sin like the Bible truly reveals  that true christians do? How do you expect tohave the mind of Christ my friend if you admit that you yield to sin and yetthink you are a child of God? Do you find it impossible and utterly rediculousto throw out your television set? Do you smoke cigarettes with the healthhazard warning on the side of the pack? If you can't fight and whip thenicotine habit, how in the world can you ever hope to walk on water? The reasonyou are so faithless my friend, is because of the fact that you are so full ofsin. How can you have faith if you fail to receive and obey God's word? You areshaken like a leaf in the wind because you fail to keep God's word. God's wordwill kill your body of sin if you will allow it to. Your mind can only bestrengthened by your receiving and obeying the revealed word of truth....
