Reference: I TIMOTHY 4:1
Thereare many damnable doctrines being proclaimed in our day that very feware aware of, but there is no excuse for none of us to be deceived bythem. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4 these words saying, ?And Jesus saidunto them, take heed that no man deceive you.? Mostpeople will just about believe everything they hear, but the wisepreacher of Proverbs 14:15 said, ?The simple believeth every word, butthe prudent man looketh well to his going.? So because of this, manywill be snared by the lying lips of the wicked and end up in a state ofdeception. Oneof the many damnable doctrines we find in the land today is theteaching by a group that call themselves Bereans.
They teach there istwo gospels, one being to the Jews and the other to the Gentiles. Theyteach that to rightly divide the word of truth means that all theteachings of Paul are for the Gentiles and all the remaining epistlesare for the Jews only. This lie can be easily disproved by the veryapostle they claim to follow, which is of course the apostle Paulhimself. One very damaging statement that Paul made concerning this, ofwhich they will not accept as being the truth of the matter, is foundin what Paul said in Romans 1:16 that says, "I am not ashamed of thegospel (not gospels) of Christ, for it (reference to the one singular gospel) is the power of God unto salvation to every one (not just to certain ones) that believeth, to the Jew first, and also (notice how Paul is including the Gentiles as well) to the Greek. Same one gospel to both Jews and Gentiles. Didnot Paul say these words in Galations 1:8 saying, But though we, or anangel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which wehave preached unto you, let him be accursed.? Notice that Paul said ifany man, and this would include Peter and the other disciples, if theypreached another gospel they would be cursed in doing so. Now if thegospel that Peter preached is not part of the whole one gospel thatincludes what Paul preached, then Peter and the other disciples havebeen cursed of God for preaching another gospel. But these blindBereans can?t see this fact, because their eyes have been blinded bySatan?s ministers believing and propagating their lies. And it was theapostle Peter himself that God used to open the door of faith of thegospel to the Gentiles, and not the apostle Paul. Does it not stand toreason that if what was revealed to Paul was only for the Gentiles thatGod would have used Paul to open the door of faith to them? InActs 15:7 we find these words saying, ?And when there had been muchdisputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye knowhow that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentilesby my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.? Thegospel that these Gentiles heard was the gospel that Peter waspreaching; not another gospel apart from what Paul was preaching. Ifwhat Peter was preaching was for the Jews only, then please tell me whyGod himself sent Peter unto them instead of Paul? This would mean thatsome Gentiles were believing what Peter was preaching, being a gospelthat was supposed to be to the Jews only, and then other Gentiles wouldbe believing what Paul preached being a gospel to the Gentiles only. This would cause confusion, of which God is not the author of. Therewould be some Gentiles believing what Peter preached and some believingwhat Paul preached, but the truth of the matter is that both Jews andGentiles were to believe what both Peter and Paul preached because boththeir teachings make up the one gospel of Christ and not two differentgospels like today's Bereans are teaching. Againwe find the apostle Paul saying these words in Galations 1:23 saying,?But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past nowpreacheth the faith which once he destroyed.? Notice here that Paul isreferring to the same faith, which was the faith of the gospel thatPeter was preaching. There is but one faith; not a faith in twodifferent gospels like the Bereans believe and are teaching. And againin Acts 13:46 we find Paul telling the Jews these words saying, ?ThenPaul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the wordof God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it fromyou, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn tothe Gentiles.? Notice Paul told those Jews that the word of God theywere refusing would be preached to the Gentiles who would receive it,and they did. The word of the gospel that those Jews refused would bepreached to the Gentiles, not a different gospel that was for the Jewsonly like today?s Bereans teach, but rather for both the Jew andGentile alike. What was revealed to Paul at a later time was still apart of the one gospel of Christ. So all the teachings of both theearly disciples of Christ and the apostle Paul makes up the one truegospel of Christ and is the power of God unto salvation to the Jewfirst and then to the Gentiles, as Romans 1:16 clearly reveals.
